George Warnock has 28 years of experience in geotechnical Engineering and senior management gained in consulting, industry, and government. He is a member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC and holds a teaching certificate from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch. 

George is currently the Assistant Deputy Minister for the Mines Health, Safety and Enforcement Division with the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation (EMLI), with statutory decision making authority for all mining and mining exploration projects in British Columbia. George and his team of delegated permitting inspectors issue approximately 500 mining permits in the province each year. George’s previous experience includes eight years with Teck at their Elkview Coal and Highland Valley Copper mines, three years as an Inspector of Mines with EMLI and four years as the Director of Geotechnical Engineering with the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. 

In his spare time, George likes to spend time outdoors skiing and hiking with his family. He also holds a Private Pilot License and has explored much of the province in a rented Cessna.
