Previously, he worked at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and the Universit\u00e9 de Savoie (France). His education is in Physical Geography (Germany, Switzerland), Environmental Systems Analysis and Monitoring (the Netherlands), and Arctic Studies (Finland).
