Lindsay is a Water Stewardship Advisor, with the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT), Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC). She coordinates the implementation of the NWT Water Stewardship Strategy, aiming to ensure NWT waters remain clean, abundant, and productive.

Her career first began with ECC as an intern, supporting the development of a Sustainable Livelihoods Action Plan. From there, she transitioned into a Water Management Advisor, conducting reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and the sustainable use of NWT’s water resources. More recently, she worked as an Adaptation Specialist with ECC. There, she worked to assess climate risks, identify GNWT’s climate adaptation priorities, and coordinate the implementation of adaptation initiatives. Working within this adaptation field, sparked her interest to help build a better understanding of permafrost thaw and its consequences on landscapes, water, and northern communities. While pursing northern-driven research and action, she’s been fortunate to build and grow collaborative partnerships with GNWT departments and climate partners from across the North.

She is originally from Yellowknife, NT, and continues to live there today. She holds an Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts Degree in Aquatic Resources, Public Policy, and Social Research from St. Francis Xavier University.
