Kate Swan is the Interim Chair of NSERC PermafrostNet’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee and a Research Facilitator of Institutional Initiatives at Carleton University. As an institutional research facilitator, she focuses on supporting the development of large-scale multi-million dollar grants across all disciplines. In this capacity, Kate was highly engaged in the development of the PermafrostNet proposal and focused primarily on supporting the partner engagement. Kate joined Carleton in March 2018 after having held a variety of positions during her 13 years at Genome Canada, most recently Director of Corporate Development. Prior to joining Genome Canada, Kate undertook neuropharmacology research at Novartis in Basel, Switzerland, after having completed biochemistry degrees at Queen’s University (BScH, 2001) and the University of Ottawa (MSc, 2003).
