Kaitlyn Diederichs is a MSc student at the University of Victoria, supervised by Dr. Trevor Lantz in the Arctic Landscape Ecology Lab.

Kaitlyn’s research focuses on understanding the spatial distribution of permafrost thaw driven slope failure using a combination of field surveys, GIS inventories and drill core analysis. Kaitlyn hopes to develop a predictive model of terrain susceptibility to slope failure.

Kaitlyn holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo in Systems Design Engineering. Between graduating from the University of Waterloo and starting work at the University of Victoria, Kaitlyn spent two years working as in geotechnical consulting with a focus on instrumentation and landslide monitoring in Alberta and BC.
