Gillian Wesley is the Director of Communications at Efficiency Canada, where she leads a dynamic team dedicated to increasing awareness, mobilization, and the implementation of research-based energy efficiency policy.
Gillian has more than a decade of experience using strategic communications to drive real-world change. She has worked with environmental organizations, coalition groups, partners, and stakeholders to develop local, provincial, and national communications products and campaigns. This work has helped secure a range of environmental protections, including more and stronger MPAs, more ambitious GHG emissions reduction targets, and greater investments in energy efficiency programs.
Gillian is passionate about training the next generation of climate communicators. She has provided mentorship and professional development opportunities to students from universities and professional programs across Canada. She has also presented at industry events, most recently as a panellist at the Smart Energy Conference.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Gillian enjoys running, cooking, and building Lego. As part of her ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth, she is currently working towards her DELF certification.
