Emilie is a MSc student at Carleton University working on an NSERC PermafrostNet project investigating and predicting thaw-induced mass movements in mountain permafrost terrain. She completed a BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography and Earth Sciences at Carleton University, and was awarded a Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement upon graduation. Her interest in permafrost research began in 2016, when she joined a research group to install permafrost monitoring sites in Umiujaq, Quebec. During her undergrad, she spent her summers working on permafrost research projects and conducting fieldwork in northern Canada. She also completed an honours thesis on ground surface temperature variability in the Lac de Gras region of Northwest Territories. Emilie has recently worked at the Yukon Geological Survey, developing a Yukon wide permafrost database, and currently resides in Whitehorse, Yukon.
